WHY WE RUN

Running is challenging, both physically and mentally. Sometimes the only way to persevere is by instilling a sense of purpose within yourself. We asked our Fit2Run ambassadors what kept them running, and received countless responses relaying the resilience, mental toughness, community, and positivity that running fosters in their lives. Why we run is unique to each of us, but the sense of empowerment that running brings is what charges and unites us. 

RUNNING INSPIRATION

Often inspired by a desire to attain a healthier lifestyle, the running bug ensues. The love for the run was sparked within Fit2Run ambassadors initially as a way to lose weight, reduce stress, and challenge themselves in a new way. Over time, running transformed into something much greater, igniting passion and fueling them with confidence and euphoria. 

THE MOMENTS THAT IGNITED A PASSION FOR RUNNING

Once our Fit2Run ambassadors started running, it became an exhilarating way to stay healthy and push their limits. A passion for running was ignited, fueled by personal record-setting, challenging themselves in ways they never imagined that they could, and the intoxicating feeling of signing up for a race and crossing the finish line. These moments defined our ambassadors’ perception of running, shaping it into something much more than just a form of exercise.

MAINTAINING MOTIVATION

When motivation wanes or a run begins to feel cumbersome, our ambassadors tune into their resilience in the face of adversity. Staying motivated is a challenging feat, so they find discipline and hold themselves accountable when motivation begins to dwindle. Our ambassadors remind themselves that no run is a bad run, that they are stronger than their excuses, that they can make it through at least ten minutes, and they focus on the feeling of accomplishment that will coincide with a completed run. Through grit and determination, Fit2Run ambassadors find the will to keep on running.

SIGNIFICANCE OF COMMUNITY

Community is the heartbeat of running, uniting individuals through their shared pursuit of the finish line and conquering their goals. The sense of belonging within the running community transcends individual achievements, and a culture of camaraderie and shared passion unites runners, beginner or avid. Our ambassadors embrace the magic of the running community, feeling empowered and motivated by the support and positive energy cultivated through running together. For them, the running community is special, filled with like-minded individuals who push each other to do better through positive energy and support.

UNEXPECTED INSIGHTS FROM RUNNING

Throughout each of our ambassadors’ running journeys, unexpected benefits and insights were realized beyond the health benefits. Their outlooks changed dramatically, and they began to recognize that they can truly do anything they set their minds to. Running brought them mental clarity and enabled them to become more present. Beyond the physicality of running, it is an exercise of mental toughness, self-discovery, and discipline. 

Running alters our spirit, and we discover courage in the face of fatigue and a newfound resilience. This is why we run- to unlock the boundless potential that resides within us, and to journey towards a future defined not by limits, but by limitless possibilities.
